Posting content on social media to communicate with your customers is really important and is something you should continue to do, but unfortunately the way that social media works now is by prioritising paid advertising. In fact, an organic post (something that you post without putting any money behind it) only reaches around 6.4% of your Page’s total likes.
That means in order to reach a wider audience, you really have to put some money behind it. The good news is that you don’t need to spend a lot, and go.cinema will help you make the most of your money.
All ads will come from your account, we’re just managing it on your behalf.
Think of us like a Parent account with lots of little Children accounts underneath us - the parent account allows us to act on your behalf, but all ads will appear to consumers as if you had posted it yourself.
Absolutely! We’ll help you set one up and run it on your behalf.
We’re launching at the end of August with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We’ll be adding Snapchat and Pinterest over the next few months.
Each social network is a little bit different and has different audiences, but each are valuable in their own way. If you’re not sure which one to use, gocinema can make the decision for you, but you have the option of just focusing on one or two.
go.cinema uses each social media channels geo-location targeting capabilities - this means that once we know your address, we will create a radius around your cinema and only target users within that area. The radius around the cinema is identified based on a number of factors, including urban vs rural, drive times (25-30 mins) and competitive cinemas in your area.
So if your cinema is in a rural location without any competitors in the area, we would use different targeting than we would for a cinema in an urban location with lots of other cinemas in the area.
In the next phase of the go.cinema, we will add other types of targeting such as interest and demographic, but right now, we’re focusing on helping you reach as many people as possible in your local area.
All campaigns will be created in advance. We will have a range of campaigns available for you to choose from - this will include library releases, new releases and industry-wide campaigns including Back to Cinema campaigns from BIFA, CinemaFirst and the ECA. You can choose any of them to use as your campaign.
For example, if you want to run a campaign for Tenet, you just need to choose ’Tenet’ from the list of campaigns. The campaign will automatically populate with pre-approved artwork, a call to action, and a link to your ticket booking page (or website if you don't have a ticket booking page).
If you want to run a campaign specifically for your cinema, or if a movie isn't available, let us know and we will upload the assets. for you. In a later version of the platform, you will be able to upload and create campaigns yourself.
No. We do that for you, so it’s one less thing to worry about - all assets will be pre-approved by the distributor or trade body, and will be formatted correctly for each different channel.
That’s fine, just get in touch with us to arrange an upload of the assets. Eventually we will automate the system so you can upload yourself and have it appear as a campaign for you to use, but for the early adopters, we will do it for you.
That’s fine! Just make sure you provide us with a link to your website so we have somewhere to direct customers.
Screen Moguls charge 10% of the media spend. If you decide you want to spend £50, £45 of that will be spent on the advertising and £5 will go to Screen Moguls
During the registration process there is a section called ‘Claim My Cinema’ - you should be able to find your cinema in the drop down menu. Click on your cinema and this will give us all the details we need to be able to run a campaign.
If you don’t find your cinema on that list, please contact us and we will make sure your cinema is added to the list.
For the time being, we are running one campaign per cinema, so if you had 3 sites, you will need 3 campaigns. In the future, we will add additional functionality that will allow one campaign to be run for multiple sites but for the time being, we’re keeping it simple.
